Adobe Launches Color Mode in Premiere 26.2, Targeting Editors Who Aren't Pro Colorists
Our Take
Adobe's positioning Color Mode as 'color grading built for editors, not colorists' — which is a polite way of saying the existing Lumetri tools are too complex for the audience that actually uses Premiere now. That's correct. The vast majority of YouTubers, podcasters, and freelance editors are doing color correction, not Hollywood color grading. If Color Mode delivers on the promise of making basic grading feel like an extension of the edit, this is a meaningful quality-of-life improvement. Public beta is open to all Premiere subscribers; general availability later in 2026.
